our history

since 1998

“Enthusiasm is the yeast that makes your hopes shine to stars. Enthusiasm is the sparkle in your eyes, the swing in your gait. The grip of your hand, the irresistible surge of will and energy to execute your ideas”.   (H. Ford)

Our story is made of enthusiasm, devotion and curiosity.

Cortecorbo is the name of a land in Montemarano that is a small village in Irpinia being famous like a world-wine excellence. We have lived here for generations producing wine for over a century. In 1921 Antonio Romano started to produce wine in a land called Cortecorbo in which we still produce Aglianico and Taurasi and other wines. At the beginning the production was small being oriented to satisfy the needs of a large peasant family.

Soccorso Romano continued the wine tradition buying new vineyards focusing the efforts on the bottles’ quality. The production was conceived like an “Intellectum Ludum”, a way to discover the secrets of our land in which the wine-tradition started during the roman empire with a white wine , Coda di Volpe, and a red one, Aglianico.

At the beginning of the new millennium, Antonia Romano collected the tradition, knowledge and passion creating Cortecorbo wines.

The values we export all over the world are:

-Respect of traditions. Irpinia is the land of three world known DOCG wines as Greco di Tufo, Fiano di Avellino and Taurasi which we made fixing the value to export centuries of improvements and passion.

-Innovation through the continue research of new techniques and flavors. Respect for the environment making wines and using materials which have no impact on global pollution. The benevolence of nature is the reason why we can go all over the world letting people know our story.

-Enthusiasm is the force that allowed us to overcome the difficulties encountered along the way. It will be the ingredient to better face the future’s challenges.

We want to tell through our wines the story of a dream that comes true.
